The youth demographic are the biggest users of the service with 15 to 24 year olds having more than twice as many registrations as the next biggest group, the 25 to 34 year-olds.
Cllr Stuart Carroll, principal member for public health and communications, said: “We are delighted that the free WiFi service has received such a good response from families, visitors, parents and professionals.
“Checking emails and browsing the internet on a mobile device is such an important part of everyday life now and there are so many benefits to having good, reliable WiFi connections at our fingertips.
“I am looking forward to seeing it progress and grow over the coming months, particularly during the regeneration of Maidenhead where I’m sure it will attract a lot more users.”
The service has been well received by those who are using it. One wrote to IntechnologyWiFi: “I am a French resident of Maidenhead. I work in the UK for a British company.
“I have discovered your service since it launched and I find it great. It is way better than the ‘free WiFi’ we have in France.”
IntechnologyWiFi also provides a new mobile application called Citi-Wise, for residents and visitors to quickly find restaurants, attractions and new, exciting activities in and around Windsor and Maidenhead.
